AMU PREP’DAYS
In June, AMU PREP'DAYS, a series of themed conferences, were proposed to prepare students for their departure. Now complete, these conferences are now available for replay on our YouTube Channel and cover the following topics: Housing; Visa and working in France; Insurance and health; Banking and social aid; Registration and AMU services.
English subtitles have been added for students who would not be comfortable enough in French.
WEBSITE, FAQ and HELPDESK
The International section/Coming to AMU of our university's website had been completely updated with a funnel-shaped information logic.
Students can find all the information they need:
- On our 'Procedures pages' or on our 'Welcome facilities pages'.
- If they do not find what they are looking for, they can find more details on our FAQ.
- If they have a really specific question they can contact the International Students Services Team via the Helpdesk.
During the holiday closure, vacation students take over to answer questions on the Helpdesk.
HOUSING
Housing is certainly the number one priority for students preparing to leave home.
Pages dedicated to this topic have been created in order to gather some useful links to help their search.
Students can also check out the university's partner platform : STUDAPART.
WELCOME DESKS
Once they arrive in France, students can come and meet the International Students Services Team and all its partners at the "Welcome Desks".
Welcome desks with partners
This year, they will take place every from 9am to 4pm with partners :
-
- From August 29th to September 13th, 2024 on the Saint Charles campus, Espace Pouillon, Marseille
-
- From September 16th to 27th, 2024 on the Schuman campus, Le Cube building, Aix-en-Provence
Here, students can benefit from the support of our teams and part-time students, and meet government operators (CPAM, CAF, Action Logement), private partners (banks, insurance, transport) or internal university services.
Welcome desks with appointments
Welcome desks will be extended by two weeks of appointments with the International Students Services Team.
Appointments can be made face-to-face or by zoom, depending on the student's choice.
Appointments can be booked online; more information is available on the dedicated page of the university website.

Welcome Pack
At these welcome desks, welcome packs will be given to students, including a tote bag, the brand-new handbook and a pen to help them start the new school year equipped for everyday life.
While waiting for the printed version, you'll find the web version HERE.
The handbook is designed to help students with the administrative formalities involved in settling in France.
INTEGRATION EVENTS
Activities linked to International Month will be offered in October. More information will be sent to students at the beginning of the school year.
COMMUNICATION
All this information has been communicated to new international students by e-mail (except those admitted via MonMaster - technical impossibility).
A communication plan on social networks has also been activated. On-campus signage will also be installed at the start of the new academic year.
A facebook group dedicated to international students (academic year 2023/2024) had been created. Students can get to know each other before arriving on campus, create groups based on their nationalities, their interests... and exchange tips and best practices. We strongly advise them to connect. More than 800 of them have already joined!
We wish you all a great summer, and look forward to seeing your students again on August 29 for the launch of the Marseille St Charles welcome desk!
All the best,
